The Automatics exploded on the music scene on a very cold day in January 2000. Although the first gig was a small and under advertised affair this in no way kept the band from playing to a sold out crowd. Everybody knows good news travels fast and this news was good news. For this was a long awaited formation of one of the most popular bands the area has ever known.

Although most of the members of The Automatics were not around to live the 50’s experience they have successfully pulled together all there favorite influences and tastes to create a large modern sound, with a very authentic and realistic 1950’s flavor. A lot of these influences though far from identical have contributed to the overall sound of The Automatics. Some of the influences include; Jazz, Rockabilly, Pop, Gospel, Country, Fusion, Hard Rock, Contempery, and Swing.

Individually the members of this band are no strangers to the Big Stage , playing on the same bill as notable Canadian artists such as Ronnie Hawkins, Loraine Sagatto (Parachute Club), Lennie Gallant, Kevin McMicheal (Cutting Crew, Robert Plant), The Irish Decendants, Amy Sky,and the Down Child Blues Band.

Always entertaining, with their authentic 50’s sound and red sport coats with leopard skin collars The Automatics musical style is appealing to both young and old, and are sure to be packing dance floors from the opening song to last call at sold out houses across the Maritimes.
